NYPD officials have issued an alert about an assault in Central Park last month. Police are hoping someone from the public will be able to assist them in identifying and locating the suspect.

According to the police report, the unknown suspect pictured above approached a 49-year-old man riding his bike near 60 West Drive on Tuesday, August 20 at about 6:10 p.m. Police say the alleged perpetrator “pushed him off his bicycle, causing him to sustain abrasions to his body from the fall.”

While the pictured suspect appears to have been running, police have not specified what prompted the attack. We have followed up with the NYPD for additional details.

Following the assault, the suspect fled by foot and the victim refused further medical attention on scene.

Anyone with relevant information is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website or by sending a direct message to @NYPDTips on Twitter.
