EMS transported him to New York Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center in stable condition.
“Sometimes shootings happen, but it’s a real quiet neighborhood,”a building tenant named Alex told the NY Daily News. “It’s surprising because this is nicer compared to some areas.”
Video shared on Citizen shows police cars and reporters arriving to the scene.
On Wednesday, January 3, police provided an update with images of three suspects wanted in connection with the incident.
“One of the individuals displayed firearm and discharged it at the victim, striking the victim in the shoulder and torso. The individuals then fled the scene in an unknown direction,” NYPD officials wrote.
Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the CrimeStoppers website or by sending a direct message to @NYPDTips on Twitter. All calls are strictly confidential.
Why didn’t they go to Mount Sinai West? New York Presbyterian/Weill Cornell is more than 2X as far
Elly,
Because he was shot in the gut and may have major internal organ injuries.
Mount Sinai West it’s not a trauma center, whereas NYP is a pediatric trauma center.
I agree in principle. Fell down three times in 2020-21 because I’m losing my hearing on one side and it makes me unbalanced. (OK, and I get tipsy, too.) First two times, I was taken to Mt. Sinai on W 112, which makes sense from W 74. Last time, for some inexplicable reason, to Weill Cornell on E 70. Ambulance was 100% higher. A ridiculous charge to go 10 blocks crosstown instead of 40 blocks uptown. It’s a racket, I swear. Never falling again.
