The actual incident took place on Thursday, March 21 near West 72nd Street. An alert was shared and when we followed up for additional details, an NYPD representative simply told ILTUWS that an unidentified woman had jumped in and was then pulled out, adding that she appeared to be in stable condition.

“It’s a floater,” an officer can be heard telling his colleagues in the video, which is timestamped at approximately 7:15 p.m. “She just jumped in!” he said after exchanging brief words with a witness. An officer can then be seen frantically removing his belt before hopping the fence and climbing down to aid the woman. Multiple officers then pull the woman up, at which point FDNY personnel administer CPR to save her life, according to the NYPD’s post on X (formerly Twitter).
