Another piece of You’ve Got Mail history on the Upper West Side is up for grabs, and this one costs a lot more than a tall latte. The townhouse that played Kathleen Kelly’s home in the 1998 rom-com is now listed for sale, and the asking price might be more reasonable than you’d think for a house this size.

The 20-foot-wide townhouse at 328 West 89th Street went on the market October 23 for $3.95 million, with Leslie J. Garfield handling the sale. The listing description calls it the You’ve Got Mail townhouse outright. Parade spotted the listing and notes that the house was the exterior of the home of Meg Ryan’s character, an independent bookstore owner who falls for her business rival, Joe Fox (Tom Hanks), over the internet.

According to the listing description, the house has about 5,885 square feet over five floors plus a basement, with 14 rooms, eight bedrooms and nine bathrooms. It’s currently split into seven residential units, including an owners’ duplex with central air conditioning, and there’s a private garden out back. The listing also says the house still has its original architectural details, and that the next owner could keep the current setup or reconfigure the place entirely. StreetEasy’s building data dates the house to 1900. The asking price works out to roughly $671 per square foot, and property taxes run $6,638 a month.

The house is one of several neighborhood spots fans still associate with the movie. The storefront at 106 West 69th Street that played Kathleen’s Shop Around the Corner was the space The Sunshinery picked for its second location, while the 81st Street Starbucks where Kathleen and Joe crossed paths closed in September 2025. Just a block east, the old Louie’s Westside Cafe at 81st and Amsterdam Avenue, now Talea Beer Co., was where the movie’s breakup scene between Ryan and Greg Kinnear was filmed.
