The Granola Bar Now Open on UWS

The Granola Bar, an elevated comfort food destination appropriate for all times of day, has opened its first New York City location at 551 Amsterdam Ave. (at 87th Street). The restaurant and lounge offers an intimate space designed as a home-away-from-home steeped in community and rooted in friendship and connection.

The Granola Bar offers breakfast, brunch and dinner menus along with a grab-and-go counter with smoothies (priced from $10 to $12), coffees and teas (Cortado, Turkish Latte, Matcha, Ginger Tea, etc), and their Signature Granola Bars, baked fresh each day.

The UWS location is offering fan favorites like Nutella Lattes, Avocado Toast, and Fruit and Yogurt Parfaits made with The Granola Bar’s signature homemade granola.

The Crunchy Elvis is made with Greek yogurt and comes with Vanilla Almond granola, almond butter, honey and banana.

Founded in 2010 by close friends Dana Noorily and Julie Mountain (@granolygirls on Instagram), The Granola Bar has now grown to seven locations, a catering business, a food truck and a restaurant consultancy – all housed under the TGB Hospitality umbrella.

Connecticut locals Noorily and Mountain met at a children’s birthday party and bonded over everything from meal prep to a shared desire to create something cool. The vision? Beautiful, giftable granola that’s less crunchy hippy and more crunchy delicious. Before long, O.A.T.S. Granola was born.

Years later, Noorily and Mountain evolved the O.A.T.S. business into a cafe and storefront, opening the flagship Granola Bar location in Westport, CT in 2013. Never not hungry, the ladies collaborated on their dream menu consisting of nutrient-dense, beautiful comfort food.

But beyond the perfect parfait was the duo’s desire to create a lively space that doubled as a second home for the community – where parents could linger over coffee after drop-off, or families could eat a weeknight meal as familiar as sitting around their own table. Think the “Cheers” soundtrack but with amazing food.

The opening of The Granola Bar’s newest location marks a milestone for the company as it expands its footprint out of the suburbs. The New York City location is designed to offer a tranquil space for customers to indulge in their favorite dishes, enjoy a cocktail after work, or grab a bite at the “grab and go” portion of the space, dedicated to those who would like to pop in quickly anytime throughout the day. The Granola Bar also provides a space that can be reserved for events and parties, large or small, with catering services for off-site gatherings and office deliveries to come.

“We are thrilled to bring The Granola Bar to New York City!” says Noorily. “As we enter our next phase of growth and expansion, Julie and I are back in the city that we both called home many years ago. There’s so much excitement surrounding what is to come for The Granola Bar in the Big Apple, but there is also a comforting sense of familiarity with the people and place we love so much.”

The Granola bar is open Monday – Friday from 7am – 10pm and Saturday – Sunday from 8am – 10pm. Reservations can be made through Resy and online orders can be placed via ToastTab.
