A familiar sign of fall has returned to the Upper West Side. The Cashmere Sale is celebrating its 10th season in the neighborhood, having opened earlier this month at 2139 Broadway, at the northwest corner of 75th Street, and remaining open through December 18.
For longtime Upper West Siders, the seasonal pop-up has become part of the neighborhood’s fall and holiday shopping routine. The sale offers a wide selection of cashmere and cold-weather essentials at direct-from-manufacturer prices, with many pieces priced at approximately half of what shoppers would typically pay at retail.
As in years past, shoppers can expect a mix of classic wardrobe staples and seasonal trends. This year’s collection includes elevated mix-and-match sets in sophisticated neutrals and rich colors, along with Western-inspired and Fair Isle patterns. Brushed cashmere, unexpected stripes and faux-fur details also make an appearance, bringing some fresh touches to traditional fall and winter dressing.
And if you’ve been waiting for the return of a particular customer favorite, there’s good news: the cult-favorite faux-fur blankets are back this season. The blankets have become a popular holiday gift and are expected to be in demand, so shoppers may want to stop by early.
With the holiday season approaching, the sale offers plenty of giftable options, from cashmere sweaters and scarves to cozy accessories and statement pieces. Of course, there’s no rule that says everything has to be wrapped for someone else.
Founded by women, The Cashmere Sale has been offering cashmere for approximately half of typical retail prices for more than two decades. Its 10th season on the Upper West Side marks a decade of being part of the neighborhood’s seasonal shopping landscape.
The location at 2139 Broadway, just past Fairway and Citarella, is the same location shoppers have visited in previous years, making it an easy stop while running errands, shopping for the holidays or simply getting ready for colder weather.
