Target is hosting a job fair for their soon to open location at 1865 Broadway (at 61st Street), Patch first reported.

Columbus Circle Target Now Open at 1865 Broadway

The fair will take place on August 26th and 27th at their corporate headquarters located at 521 West 25th Street. Those interested in working at the new Target can stop by between 9am and 4pm on either day.

The store plans on hiring up to 160 employees, and they’ve posted several jobs at 1865 Broadway  on their website.

We don’t yet have an exact opening date, but we’re hoping next week’s job fair is an indication that it will be opening very soon.

We first learned that Target would be opening a Columbus Circle store in October of 2018. They’re supposed to be opening once the building they’ve leased space in is complete.

Construction at this building topped out in October of 2018. And in the residential portion (which has an address of 15 West 61st Street and is called The Park Loggia), they launched sales in May. According to the building website, occupancy is expected for this fall.

Which means, hopefully, the new Target should be opening this fall as well.

Target will open a second Upper West Side location

This will be one of Target’s “small format stores”, which are designed for urban areas. But at over 35,000 square feet across two levels, it will only be small compared to the average Target (which is 130,000 square feet). As far as we know, it will be the only retailer in the building.

Next time we cover Target, it will be to announce their official opening date.
