The NYPD is seeking assistance from the public in identifying and locating a man wanted for an attempted burglary on the Upper West Side this weekend.
It was reported to police that on Saturday, September 16 at about 6:50 p.m., an unidentified male suspect entered a 70-year-old female victim’s apartment on or near 76th and Broadway by climbing up a fire escape and pushing open a window to gain entry. Once inside, the suspect attempted to remove property but was confronted and fled. No property was removed and there were no reported injuries as a result of this incident.
Anyone with relevant information is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website or by sending a direct message to @NYPDTips on Twitter.
Nothing taken, no injuries. Was a crime committed? Will anyone spend 10s of hours trying to catch him? If caught, will he be inconvenienced for more than 5 hours?
Breaking and entering, trespass, attempted theft? Not to mention the psychological damage to the victim. Perhaps he’s done it before and will do it again?
Good humor, get the F out of here with your nonsense.
That’s right, let’s just think of him as a friendly bird. All is well in Mayberry.
