Shots Fired at 71st and Central Park West Friday Morning

An argument between three people escalated into a physical fight on the Upper West Side Friday morning, and one of them pulled out a gun and fired.


NYPD officers responded at 8:46 a.m. to a 911 call for shots fired at West 71st Street and Central Park West, a police spokesperson told us. Officers were told upon arrival that three individuals had been involved in a verbal dispute that turned physical, and that during the altercation one of them displayed a firearm and discharged three rounds.

No injuries were reported. A person of interest was taken into custody. The location falls within the 20th Precinct.
