The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in ascertaining the whereabouts of a suspect wanted in connection to a shooting (deemed an ‘assault’) that occurred on the Upper West Side last month.

It was reported to police that on Saturday, December 30 at about 5:20 p.m., two men engaged in a verbal dispute in the vicinity of 161 West 61st Street. The building, also known as The Alfred, is a 36-story, full-service condominium with a slew of amenities and current availabilities ranging in price from $675,000 (for a tenth floor studio) to $1,175,000 (for a fifteenth floor one-bedroom).
Following the verbal altercation, the suspect displayed a firearm and discharged one round towards the victim, who police say is 39 years old. He did not sustain any injury.
The suspect, who police describe as “a male with light complexion, slim build, approximately 30 to 35 years of age and 170 pounds,” then fled the scene on foot, heading south down Amsterdam Avenue.
NYPD officials have released surveillance imagery of the suspect, shown below.

Owned a home near the projects for about 4 years. Learned my lesson. Never again.
Why take so long to notify the public? The shooting occurred in Dec. Sure, a few days to get the pictures publicized — but over two weeks!?! By then, this suspect is already flying the coop, making efforts to stay low and making it harder for detectives to trace him down.
It doesn’t matter if the DA won’t prosecute because there are too many Felons in prison.
