NYC Restaurant Week goes back to 1992, when it was created by Tim Zagat and Joe Baum. Since then, it has been occurring twice per year in both NYC and in cities throughout the country (outside of 2020). Since its inception, Restaurant Week has grown wildly in popularity and participation, and has been a popular draw for diners who want to get a taste of upscale restaurants without paying hefty price tags.
