Pura Vida Miami, the health-focused all-day café that’s been steadily expanding across New York for the past two years, is coming to the Upper West Side. A rendering posted in a ground-floor retail window gives the plan away, and the café is moving into the base of a building that’s spent years generating headlines for entirely different reasons.

The rendering shows Pura Vida taking the corner storefront at West 84th Street and Broadway, in the retail portion of The Henry, the new luxury condominium at 211 West 84th Street. It depicts the chain’s pale blue branding wrapped around the corner, with a script neon sign above the entrance, striped umbrellas over sidewalk tables and planters running along the base of the building.The menu is built to work from early morning through dinner. There’s all-day breakfast including avocado toasts and egg sandwiches, plus grain and protein bowls, salads, wraps, sandwiches, açaí bowls, smoothies, cold-pressed juices, wellness shots and a full coffee and matcha menu. The company says it cooks without seed oils, and it added a grass-fed steak plate to the lineup earlier this year.
The brand was founded in 2012 in South Beach by husband-and-wife team Omer and Jen Horev, and it has since grown to dozens of locations across Florida, along with outposts in California, New Jersey, Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia.
New York has been the biggest push. Pura Vida opened its first city location in NoMad in July 2024 and told Eater that same month that it planned to have ten New York locations by 2026. The company’s website currently lists eight, including NoMad, Bleecker Street, Nolita, Bryant Park, Dumbo and Williamsburg. Its New York flagship, a 100 Fifth Avenue space in the Flatiron District billed as the largest Pura Vida anywhere, opened in June, according to QSR Magazine.
The one closest to home is across the park. Sister site East Side Feed reported on the Upper East Side location at 1598 Second Avenue, on the corner of East 83rd Street, back when signage first went up in the spring of 2025.

An opening date for the Upper West Side location hasn’t been announced. We’ve reached out to Pura Vida Miami and will update this story if we hear back.As for the building it’s moving into, The Henry is an 18-story, 45-unit condo from Naftali Group, designed by Robert A.M. Stern Architects. It carries roughly 250 feet of frontage along West 84th Street, running from the Broadway corner to the middle of the block, with just under 2,900 square feet of ground-floor retail, according to New York YIMBY. The project made headlines well before sales launched in 2024, largely because of a tenant who refused to vacate the rental building that previously stood on the site, delaying demolition and drawing a lawsuit from the developer.
Prices at the building currently range from $2.425 million to $28.75 million, according to Streeteasy.
