Police Seek Woman Who Slapped 71-Year-Old in Face Near Central Park West

The NYPD is asking for the public’s help identifying a woman wanted in connection with the assault of an elderly woman near Central Park West last month.

According to the police report, on Thursday, April 2 at approximately 6:30 p.m., a 71-year-old woman was walking in the vicinity of Central Park West and West 100th Street when she was approached by an unidentified individual who slapped her in the face. The victim sustained pain and swelling but refused medical attention at the scene.

The suspect fled eastbound on foot along Central Park West.

Police describe the woman as having a dark complexion. She was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, red pants, and sunglasses.
