Police Officer Assaulted in Motorcycle Clash

The NYPD has put out on alert for three suspects wanted in connection to an assault against a police officer on Friday.

The incident happened at approximately 4:05 p.m. near 90th and West Drive in Central Park.

An on-duty copy riding a marked police scooter was attempting to escort the three suspects out of the park, as they were riding their motorcycles there illegally.

The police officer was then struck by one of the motorcycles, causing him to fall and inure himself.

They fled on their bikes in an unknown direction and the police officer was transported to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

The police report describes the first suspect as a male with medium complexion and a medium build. He was riding a red motorcycle.

The second and third suspects are described as “males [with] medium complexion[s] and medium build[s].”
