NY Philharmonic Launches “Mobile Bandwagon”

Last modified on June 15th, 2021

The NY Philharmonic “Mobile Bandwagon” was recently launched to provide surprise outdoor performances across all five boroughs.

Orchestra members are providing “pull up” performances from varied programs, including “world premieres written exclusively for the truck.”

None of these concerts are announced in advance, which keeps crowd sizes to a minimum in order to follow safety guidelines.

But here’s one recent performance caught on 65th and Broadway:

(Sound UP!) Happened upon this fun scene at the corner of Broadway and 65th yesterday – it’s part of the @nyphilharmonic mobile “Bandwagon” program where the New York Philharmonic is presenting free, surprise “pull-up” performances by members of the the orchestra and other artists while NYC’s performing venues are still closed due to Covid. Who could ask for anything more, indeed?! ?? #nyphilharmonic #nyphilbandwagon #frontrowseats #covidkindness #makepeoplehappy #communityservice #bravo #kindnestquest ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• #kindness #kindnessmatters #kindacts #bekind #loveandlight #beofservice #mindfulness #mindset #positivevibes #whocouldaskforanythingmore #uws #uwsnyc #nyc #singer #operasinger #performer #art #artists #orchestra #pickuptruck #actsofkindness #ilovetheuws
