The Upper West Side’s got a new Chipotle. The international chain with more than 50 locations throughout New York City alone has expanded with a new spot 2575 Broadway (at the corner of 97th Street); Patch reports its first day of business is Wednesday, November 1.

The previous occupant at this space was a Walgreens that closed in 2019. The drug store’s former space has been subdivided and totals more than 14,000 square feet including the new Chipotle.
The new location comes with a walk-up window, a feature that Chipotle first began testing in 2019 to streamline the experience for customers who order ahead. The first NYC location with a walk-up window opened in Bensonhurst in 2021.
The new Chipotle joins four other locations on the Upper West Side: 269 Amsterdam (between 72nd and 73rd streets), 2298 Broadway (corner of 83rd St.), 2843 Broadway (corner of 110th St.), and 805 Columbus (just south of 100th St). The 83rd St. location was temporarily closed for renovations earlier this summer.
Since its founding in 1993, Chipotle has grown to more than 3,200 locations around the world. The brand and its founder, Steve Ells, recently made national news after partnering with a robotics start-up to develop “Autocado,” a robot that cuts, cores, and peels avocados, reducing the time it takes to make a batch of guacamole by 50 percent.
The new location will be open daily from 10:45 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Opens 11/3. There’s a confusing sign on the door and a rude woman inside saying, “we’re not open!” even though the entrance is open.
