A new sushi joint has opened its doors in Manhattan Valley.
Mangetsu Sushi recently began serving customers late last month at 150 Manhattan Avenue (between 106th and 107th streets), which is right next door to Claire’s Kitchen Cafe.

“Join us for an unforgettable dining experience featuring the freshest sushi, creative rolls, and authentic Japanese flavors,” Mangetsu wrote on Instagram, which shows a clean looking interior with a long bench and a handful of two-person tables.
The menu offers a generous list of classic and specialty rolls, donburi (a variety of fish options over rice), and appetizers including salmon carpaccio crispy rice cakes (with spicy tuna and spicy salmon options).

Reviews on Google are mostly positive since the restaurant opened; early customers praising items including Mangetsu’s salmon Avocado Roll and Chirashi Don (assorted fish over rice), while @thebestoftheupperwest recommends their salmon with ponzu sauce and “everything with fatty tuna and seared salmon.”
