On Saturday, November 13 at about 8:58am, an individual got on an M10 bus in front of 200 Central Park West (the AMNH) and threatened to kill the bus driver. He then “simulated a firearm and fled the bus to parts unknown,” an NYPD representative tells us.
The NYPD announced on November 20, one week after the incident, that it’s now seeking assistance from the public in identifying the suspect – who is wanted for “Menacing in front of 200 Central Park West.” Here’s a surveillance video of the individual in question.

(NYPD)
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the CrimeStoppers website at crimestoppers.nypdonline.org or on Twitter @NYPDTips.
A reward of up to $3,500 is being offered to anyone who has a tip which helps lead the NYPD to the suspect’s arrest.
All calls are strictly confidential.
I’m starting to see a pattern every time a crime is committed and they’re looking for a suspect on here. It is literally a black male 100% of the time. And this particular individual, like so many on here, is well dressed, and well groomed, etc. In this particular case, I’m not even sure what happened? It’s being reported that he threatened to kill a bus driver when he got on the bus, but it’s not clear if he revealed (or brandished) a firearm, or simply stated that he had one. I can already hear all the liberal comments about him not actually having hurt anyone. And how certain lives matter more than others. The police are enjoying this, they are no longer doing anything to earn their paycheck. And it is extremely clear that the crime rate is soaring on a daily basis. I grew up on the upper West side, I went to public school PS 84 in the 70s, and Joan of arc junior high school in the 80s. I played basketball after school with lots of black friends and school mates. I still have friends from all of the housing projects in the neighborhood. I should not be called a racist just because I want the police to arrest anyone committing a crime. It’s their job, this is a city that requires immediate and constant law enforcement. For those people saying we should not let a few bad apples paint everyone in the Black Lives Matter movement, well then we should not let a couple of cops paint all of the police that way. A lot of NYPD are women and POC.
My life almost duplicates yours. My feelings and opinions, as well. Thank you for having the courage of your convictions and articulating them here. We, the entire country and the world, need this kind of honesty, real and decent reactions to the breakdown of society where the inmates now run the asylum. Enough is enough. These folks be they green, blue, purple, magenta or khaki need to know – if you break the law, you pay a price, you go to jail and you have a record after you’ve served your time.
If you violate the terms of your probation, even one time, you get incarcerated for a minimum of 5 years with no parole, be it a crime involving drugs, weapons of any kind, grand theft auto, street muggings and attacks on citizens simply walking by, street sexual assault and certainly rape be it date-rate, spousal rape or otherwise.
Let’s stop the “social-worker” approach to each and every crime because….you know…. they had “a hard life” or “they were abused” or whatever the marshmallow excuse we all have learned to use.
No more excuses, no more turn the other cheek, no more “guns don’t kill people, bullets do” malarkey. You break the law, you are held accountable; you are responsible, and you pay a hefty price in terms of anyone granting you any more leeway, civil liberties or “god-given” rights. You abrogated those rights when you decided to commit a crime. Period. End of story.
And the people shooting up schools and theaters — and now unarmed people in public — are all weaponized white guys.
What’s your point again?
What on earth is your point? Arrest well dressed black men? Dear God.
Emma, the point is obviously over your head. Please look into taking a course in reading comprehension. While you’re at it, look into deductive reasoning. As for “L.P.”—who’s deflecting. This is about the upper west side, stick to the facts and the neighborhood and topic. Pete obviously understood it clearly. As too many others, who have become afraid of simply telling it as it is. As stated, I grew up in the neighborhood and went to both public schools PS 84 And our junior high school Joan of arc. I know many of neighborhood poc and they don’t feel differently— in fact, they are concerned that people will view them as part of the problem now. Despite the fact that these criminals may not be from the area. Some people here are extremely naïve, but it’s safe to say that this particular individual, although he got on the bus in front of the museum of natural history, was not likely doing any research or taking in culture prior to the reports that he threatened the bus driver. At this point there are only two kinds of people left, those who don’t want New York City to slip back into the 70s, and will speak up, and the other clueless politically correct kind. One of the reasons that language is valuable, is because we can describe things as they are, and in this case, along with others published on here, the offenders were black and if we can’t say that, then that’s a kind of insanity— because it shouldn’t matter if they were Asian, or had a British accent, whatever the details they should be stated as they are, factually. Just because I vote blue does not mean that I will ignore reality.
