
A 28-year-old man was robbed while sitting on a park bench Tuesday afternoon, and the two people responsible got away on a moped.
The incident happened at around 3:45 p.m. on August 11 near West 66th Street and Riverside Boulevard. The victim was sitting on a bench when two individuals rode up southbound on a moped and stopped in front of him, according to the police report.
One of them got off the moped, got on top of the victim and used physical force to snatch a gold necklace off his neck, according to the report. That individual then got back on the moped and both continued south.
The victim refused medical attention at the scene. Both individuals fled on a black moped.
The complaint remains open and no arrests have been announced.
