Police say a 37-year-old man was robbed by a group of fifteen to twenty young suspects in Central Park on Thursday night around 10:30 p.m. NYPD officials are hoping members of the general public will be able to assist them in identifying and locating the wanted individuals.
According to the police report, the male victim was sitting on a bench near Wollman Rink when he was approached by the large group. The suspects surrounded him and demanded his property. One culprit displayed a knife while another stole his wallet.

The unidentified individuals fled the location and later used the victim’s credit cards to make unauthorized purchases at multiple commercial establishments.
Police have released surveillance images of twelve of the suspects.
On the Upper East Side–not too far from where the above-described incident took place–eight young suspects surrounded a man before robbing him late last month.
Anyone with relevant information is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website or by sending a direct message to @NYPDTips on Twitter.
If I could only make a bet what color are the attackers? Liberals will now blame the victim for having a phone and a wallet.
No, but it’s a dubious time of night to be in Central Park.
Moving through the park at that hour is very different than sitting on a bench.
Go push your agenda elsewhere, Vlad.
So it’s the victim’s fault for trying to have an easy night walk at central park?
Huh?
It is party the victim’s fault/ He should have known better than to sit on a bench at that hour in CP.
Of course the group of teens who decided to threaten/rob him are ultimately to blame.
Liberals are freaking impossible! Still blaming the victim. I should feel comfortable sitting on any F-bench without being scared of being robbed. We need to get those fucking criminals under control. Especially from those communities.
X,
Really, when in the last 50 years has it been safe to sit on a bench alone in Central Park at 10:30 PM?
Public safety at any time of day in any place is the most critical factor in any city. Without safety we have nothing. Stop blaming victims. It’s disgusting.

Safe drinking water and buildings not collapsing are more important. NYC has the former, not the latter.
No, you shouldn’t be sitting on alone on a bench in Central Park at that hour.
Also the NYPD clearly isn’t doing enough foot patrols, not just in CP.
Your ilk thought it fine that Tessa Majors was in Morningside Park after dark when she was murdered for an iPhone. It wasn’t a good idea for her to be there on a late winter evening and Columbia and Barnard are at fault for not warning students of the very real dangers in that park.
Myself, if confronted with such a group — who’d have to steal a lot of expensive camera gear or jewels to make any money per person — my immediate reaction would be that I’d want a Glxxk 10xx 15 or better a KelXXX PLR 16 or FxH P90, but then I’d realize that such devices would cause me a lot of trouble. And I’d not have been sitting on that bench after dark in CP to begin with.
