The NYPD has put out a notice about a male suspect wanted for an attempted rape which took place earlier this year.
Police say that on Feb. 14, a 15-year-old girl encountered the suspect at an undisclosed smoke shop at about 7 a.m. He then attempted to rape her at his apartment on 63rd and West End Avenue.

The victim did not require medical attention as a result of this incident.
Police say the male suspect has “a medium complexion, a beard, and curly hair.”
We followed up with the police to ask them when the actual incident was reported, and how the image above was obtained – as it clearly didn’t come from an iPhone or a surveillance camera. The officer we were initially emailing with told us it was an arrest photo, at which point we called to ask why more specific details weren’t provided (his name, a more thorough description of his appearance, etc).
After about ten minutes on the phone, we were told that the suspect is 26-year-old Justin Bido, and that he’s 5’10” (no other physical attributes were provided).
We still have not received an answer regarding when the incident – which NYPD officials say happened on Feb. 14, over two months ago – was first reported to police.
