You’ll have to hustle if you want to enjoy the fare from acclaimed French chef Daniel Boulud, who is shuttering his trio of popular Lincoln Center hot spots at 1900 Broadway at 64th Street. On June 23, Boulud Sud and Épicerie Boulud will close. While Bar Boulud is currently closed, don’t despair—the restaurateur has something new in store for the connected spaces.

“I’m thrilled to share that we’ll be debuting a brand new restaurant at the corner of 64th and Broadway this fall—right across from Lincoln Center!” said Boulud in a statement to Eater, which first reported the story. “After years of bustling pre- and post-theater dinners and celebrations, it’s time for something new.” Boulud told the food publication that the brasserie will open in time for the holidays—a notably quick turnaround to get patrons, many of whom enjoy a bite before a show or a festive meal, back inside.

Boulud first arrived at 64th and Broadway in 2008 with the opening of Bar Boulud, serving Parisian-style seasonal fare and a wide selection of traditional terrines and pâtés by famed charcutier Gilles Verot. Then came Boulud Sud in 2011, a longtime Lincoln Center favorite known for its Southern French and Mediterranean flavors. That same year, Épicerie Boulud opened—an upscale eat-in or take-out market offering everything from macarons to paninis to a quiche Parisienne made with ham, Gruyère, leeks, mushrooms, and parsley, served with an arugula salad for breakfast.
Boulud hasn’t divulged the name of his upcoming brasserie. On the bright side, the other Épicerie Boulud locations in the city will remain open, with two in Midtown and one in the Financial District.
Currently, Boulud operates twelve restaurant brands in Manhattan, along with two event spaces. Most recently, he opened Julien by Daniel Boulud in the Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh—a 10-seat French restaurant serving a 10-course menu—in May.

The Boulud name has become one you can count on for dishing out delights in elegant settings. We look forward to seeing what’s in store at 64th and Broadway.
“So many have been loyal patrons of [these restaurants] for nearly 20 years,” said Boulud in the Eater interview. “I’m deeply grateful to our talented chefs and incredible service team—and our devoted guests—for making this a beloved destination for the Lincoln Center community.”

I will miss Bar Boulud, but I’m eager to see what Daniel cooks up for the space.
Does this mean I will not be able to have the grapefruit givre ever again? That makes me sad.
It would be great if the new brasserie maintained hours that allow for getting a bite post show. Lincoln Center has become a ghost town after 10pm.
You’ll still have to pay $20 for a glass of orange juice and $35 for two eggs that cost less than $1 each at the store.
Boulud Sud was one of my all time favorites for years. I hope whatever is coming will be equally special.
I loved Epicerie, especially their salad with the tarragon dressing. That place was affordable and quick. that will be a real loss.
