Lincoln Center’s Midsummer Night Swing 2019

Last modified on November 28th, 2019

New York’s best dance party under the stars is back! Lincoln Center’s Midsummer Night Swing 2019 will transform Damrosch Park into an outdoor dance party from June 25th to July 13th.

Each night, Midsummer Night Swing will offer a different genre of live music and dance such as salsa, ballroom, disco, and jazz to spice up the summer nights. Depending on the style of the evening, guests can also expect dance instructors to teach new moves and get the groove going.

According to the Lincoln Center website, the dance floor opens to ticket and pass holders at 6 PM. Midsummer Night Swingers are invited to learn dance moves from the instructors from 6:15-7:30 PM. The first live set is scheduled from 7:30-8:30 PM (unless otherwise noted) and the second set will commence from 9:00-10:00 PM (unless otherwise noted).

Dance Floor Rules

Anyone is welcomed to the dance floor regardless of whether they’re a seasoned pro or a newbie. However, Lincoln Center’s website states that bags and purses of any size are not allowed on the dance floor. Food, drinks, and picture taking are also not allowed on the dance floor. However, guests are encouraged to take pictures off the floor or on the sidelines and post them on social media with the hashtag #MidsummerNightSwing.

Food & Drinks

There will be food trucks available to fuel dance moves. Guests can enjoy summer cocktails, wine, and beer at the Fun Bar. As mentioned earlier, food and drinks are not allowed on the dance floor. There will also be a Kid Zone for the children attending Midsummer Night Swing, located at The Deck (southeast corner of Damrosch Park). Along with games, kids can enjoy a “mini bar” full of juice, fruits, and candy.

Silent Nights

On select nights, there will be a silent disco from 10:00-11:30 PM. This is complimentary with your ticket to that night’s event; otherwise, it’s $5 at the door. While the headphones are free, you will need either a credit card or ID to borrow them.

Weather Updates

Since Midsummer Night Swing is under the sky, guests should check the Lincoln Center website when it rains for cancellations, and ticket exchanges or refunds.
