Comedy legend and Upper West Sider Jerry Stiller has died at 92, son Ben Stiller announced on Twitter on Monday.
I’m sad to say that my father, Jerry Stiller, passed away from natural causes. He was a great dad and grandfather, and the most dedicated husband to Anne for about 62 years. He will be greatly missed. Love you Dad. pic.twitter.com/KyoNsJIBz5

Stiller was born in 1927 and was married to Anne Meara for over 60 years, until her death in 2015. Together, they formed a comedy duo called Stiller and Meara, which was popular in the 1960s and 1970s.

Stiller and Meara raised their two children, Ben and Amy, on the Upper West Side. Both would follow in their parents footsteps to become big stars.

So so sorry to read this. My single favorite Dad who wasn’t mine. Maybe even better than mine if I had been Jewish….
We always watched Ann and Jerry on Ed Sullivan. He was terrific in Seinfield too. What a loss.
My husband and I are still huge Seinfeld fans, so it’s sad to hear of the passing of Jerry Stiller. I believe that “Morty” also passed away not so long ago, leaving both Jerry and George orphans. Frank Constanza was so awesome! I’m sorry for Ben and his sister. May his memory be for a blessing.
I would run into Anne meara and Jerry Stiller with my Dad. Dad was a studio manager at CBS. They were lovely people. I was happy to work with Jerry many years later. He was such a professional. A joy to encounter.
I met him once on W. 72nd Street. We had a nice chat. He seemed very down to earth.
