Upper West Sider Jerry Stiller Dies at 92

Comedy legend and Upper West Sider Jerry Stiller has died at 92, son Ben Stiller announced on Twitter on Monday.

Stiller was born in 1927 and was married to Anne Meara for over 60 years, until her death in 2015. Together, they formed a comedy duo called Stiller and Meara, which was popular in the 1960s and 1970s.

Jerry Stiller will be most remembered for his hilarious TV roles as Frank Costanza on Seinfeld (1993 to 1998) and Arthur Spooner on King of Queens (1998 to 2007).

Stiller and Meara raised their two children, Ben and Amy, on the Upper West Side. Both would follow in their parents footsteps to become big stars.
