Two separate housing lotteries are currently open for apartments at 711 Amsterdam Avenue, a Mitchell-Lama co-op located between 94th and 95th streets. Both lotteries are accepting applications through November 10.

The Mitchell-Lama program, established in 1955 through legislation sponsored by State Senator MacNeil Mitchell and Assemblyman Alfred Lama, was designed to provide affordable rental and cooperative housing for moderate- and middle-income New Yorkers. The program is jointly administered under both city and state supervision, depending on the development.At 711 Amsterdam Avenue, one lottery is for a three-bedroom apartment, while the other is for a four-bedroom apartment—both available for purchase.
Three-Bedroom Details (apply here)
- Eligible household size: 4–6 people (single parents with two children also qualify)
- Income limits: $26,840 to $235,000, depending on household size
- Purchase price: $61,215 to $66,316 (subject to change)
- Monthly maintenance: $671 to $1,220 (subject to change)
Four-Bedroom Details (apply here)
- Eligible household size: 5–8 people
- Income limits: $49,040 to $267,375, depending on household size
- Purchase price: $76,517 (subject to change)
- Monthly maintenance: $1,226 to $1,738 (subject to change)

Additional Notes- Applicants must be New York State residents and at least 18 years old.
- Current shareholders are not eligible.
- Applications are not transferable, and only one entry per applicant is allowed (either online or by mail, not both).
- Veterans will receive preference in the lottery.
- A non-refundable $75 application fee applies to applicants selected in the lottery.
- A waiting list of 100 applicants will be established for both the three- and four-bedroom units.
