Hold onto your drumsticks: a prominent food publication has named its picks for New York City’s best chicken wing spots, and the Upper West Side is ruling the roost.

Eater’s January 7 list of ‘Where to Eat Wings in NYC’ features fourteen eateries, three of which are on the UWS.

Chick Chick (618 Amsterdam Avenue, between West 88th and West 89th streets)

Opened in 2021, Chick Chick quickly earned a reputation among wing enthusiasts and was awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand honor two years in a row, in 2022 and 2023. Eater credits Chef Jun Park and BoMee Chu for their meticulous preparation: wings are coated in a thin layer of potato starch, then fried twice—first at a lower temperature and again at a higher one for an extra crunch. The result? A standout wing topped with peanut bits over KSG sauce, and a pineapple-infused Hawaiian BBQ sauce. A 10-piece order is $24. Their tasty fried chicken can also come on a sandwich or in tender form. chickchicknyc.com

Bodega 88 (573 Columbus Avenue, between West 87th and West 88th streets)

A true Upper West Side gem with a devoted following, Bodega 88 offers an array of wings to satisfy your cravings. Eater praised the selection, which includes dry-rub, Asian citrus glaze, mango mustard, and classic Buffalo, ranging from six pieces for $12.50 to 24 wings for $30.

Grab a spot at the bar to catch the game, settle into a table for two in the center of the room, or go big with a cozy booth on the side. Don’t miss their excellent empanadas, either. bodega88nyc.com

A longtime staple on the Upper West Side, Blondies Sports is the go-to spot for classic wings.
