On July 4th, a group of people congregated at Columbus Circle to hold a flag burning. The video below shows a number of individuals, including children, standing in a circle while chanting before the flag burning commenced. Towards the end of the video, you can hear the National Anthem being played from a nearby NYPD vehicle.
The flag burning appears to have been organized by a group called The Revolution Club, which is lead by Bob Avakian and describes itself as “The Revolutionary Communist Party.” Here is an article the group published about other flag burnings it helped organize around the country.
