Fumo Opens

Fumo has opened at 2791 Broadway – between 107th and 108th Streets. The Italian restaurant and bar is most known for their pizza and pasta. The former tenant in this space was Mezzogiorno.

Fumo is popular for drinks as well as food. Their drink menu includes twelve beers and seven house cocktails (3 tequila, 2 gin, 1 vodka and 1 bourbon drink). Cocktails are priced at $12. They also offer half priced wine bottles on Monday nights.

Saturday and Sunday brunch is from 11am-4:30pm. Brunch options include avocado toast, chicken and waffles and several wood-burning pizzas (one comes with cream cheese and lox. I love all of the foods included on this plate, but I’ll have to decide if I think they belong together). They also have an unlimited bloody mary and mimosa deal for $17.50.

Fumo’s original location is at 1600 Amsterdam (at 139th Street). The uptown location has very positive reviews, praising the food, service and reasonable prices.

Across the street .. some more West 100s restaurant news. A sign on the door of Manchester Diner (at 2800 Broadway) says they are closed for renovations. But one of our readers told us that a waitress indicated they’d be closing for good. We called Manchester but the phone was out of service. We’ll follow up with them and provide an update once we have more info.
