A suspicious-looking device, which turned out to be a fake and inoperable grenade, was found Friday morning in Central Park near the finish line for the New York City Marathon, set to take place on Sunday.

Police received a call about the device near 68th and West Drive–on a picnic table, NBC News reports–at about 9:25 a.m. on Friday.
A large police presence followed, with officers from both the Emergency Service Unit and Bomb Squad showing up to the scene.

The Bomb Squad determined that the device was nonhazardous and police gave the ‘all clear’ at 11 a.m., NBC News reports.
