Eataly Caffè, the fast-casual coffee bar concept from the Italian marketplace chain, is heading to the Upper West Side. Signage is now up at the space advertising a fall opening.

The signage is up at 2252 Broadway, on the corner of 81st Street — the former home of the famous “You’ve Got Mail” Starbucks, which closed last September. That makes it a coffee-to-coffee handoff for the corner Kathleen Kelly and Joe Fox frequented on screen — this time with espresso, gelato, and pizza in the mix.The caffè is Eataly’s quick-service format, built to welcome guests throughout the day — from breakfast to lunch to an after-work aperitivo. The coffee menu is built around espresso drinks made with Eataly’s own blend of 100% Arabica beans, sourced from high-altitude farms in Central America, South America, and Ethiopia and roasted in Italy. On the food side, expect sweet and savory pastries, gelato, Roman-style pizza alla pala, panini and tramezzini, and refrigerated cases of grab-and-go salads, soups, and pasta, along with a curated retail section carrying products from Eataly’s exclusive Icons line.
Ordering runs through the dedicated Eataly Caffè app, which offers order-ahead with real-time tracking, a loyalty program, and exclusive items that drop each quarter.
The Upper West Side location is the latest in a quick local rollout. Eataly opened its very first Eataly Caffè at Rockefeller Center in May 2025, followed shortly by a second at Hudson Yards. It then brought the concept to the Upper East Side, at 1122 Lexington Avenue, this past December — part of an expansion the company has tied to its 15th year in New York City. Eataly has run its flagship Flatiron marketplace since 2010.
