Anybody who knows Lee Seinfeld knows about his love for New Orleans. “Its Creole/Cajun blend of music, food and culture make it the most unique city in America and probably my favorite place in the world,” he tells us. Every year on Fat Tuesday, it all comes together in an unprecedented fête known as Mardi Gras. And every Mardi Gras, Seinfeld’s beloved Dive Bars bring the best of NOLA’s brass band bacchanal to the Upper West Side.
You’re invited to join Dive Bar’s 6th Annual Fat Tuesday Second Line on Tuesday, March 1 at 7:30pm!
A parade will start at Dive Bar at 96th and Amsterdam, party up to Broadway Dive at 101st Street, and bring the celebration over to Dive 106 at 106th and Amsterdam. Along the way, Dive Krewe fais do-do will include live music, beads, and authentic Hurricane drink specials at all three locations.
And because it wouldn’t be Mardi Gras without a taste of Big Easy cuisine, the kitchen at Dive 96 will be preparing traditional New Orleans gumbo, okra & stewed tomatoes over rice, and its classic mac & cheese made with andouille sausage and Slap Ya Mama Cajun Seasoning — topped with Zapp’s New Orleans Kettle Style Voodoo Chip Crumble.
… And NYC’s best muffaletta!
It feels good to finally get together again, and this year’s Mardi Gras festivities will be bigger and better than ever before. Laissez les bon temps rouler!
