David Blaine’s next big stunt, and also his first big stunt in ten years, will involve flying with helium-filled balloons across the Hudson River, from New Jersey to NYC.
While it hasn’t been made clear where he will actually land, perhaps Upper West Siders with river views will want to look out their windows.
( We asked ).
hey @davidblaine @youtube – where are you landing?! will Upper West Siders be able to see you from their windows?!

The stunt is called Ascension, and will stream live on Youtube on August 31.
Here’s a trailer, and if you want to view it, you can set a reminder here.
David Blaine was recently spotted practicing for the stunt in California, where he landed in the parking lot of a cargo and freight company.
If we find out where he’ll be landing (and if it will be on, near or visible from the UWS), we’ll provide an update.
But this certainly wouldn’t be Blaine’s first UWS experience.
On April 5, 1999, David Blaine was “Buried Alive” on 68th and Riverside Boulevard, where he remained in a plastic box under a three-ton water filled tank for seven days and nights.
And on May 1, 2006, David Blaine was “Drowned Alive” at Lincoln Center, submerging himself in an 8-foot diameter water-filled sphere, again for seven days and nights.
Count me out. I won’t be watching.
Worry will turn into wonder when the National Guard drags DT kicking and screaming from the White House after Nov. 3 and throws him into jail. Media-whore David Blaine performing or doing anything is more likely to provoke a gag reflex than wonder.
I’ll be there with my BB Gun
