The highly anticipated Chick-fil-A will be opening its doors at 795 Columbus Avenue (at 98th Street) on Thursday, March 6, the company has announced. This will be the corporate chicken chain’s seventeenth location in Manhattan and its first on the Upper West Side.

The UWS location’s franchise owner is Malcolm Brewer, a Brooklyn native who will employ about 90 full- and part-time employees.

“As a lifelong New Yorker, I feel incredibly humbled and excited to be opening the first Chick-fil-A restaurant on the Upper West Side,” said Malcolm. “Chick-fil-A allows me to make an impact on my community in areas I’m passionate about and I’m eager to do exactly that. As the local Owner-Operator, it is my goal to cultivate an exceptional work environment for my Team Members, while serving delicious food and partnering with local organizations focused on childhood education and professional development.”
Malcolm’s restaurant will plan to participate in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table® program, an initiative that redirects surplus food from the restaurant to local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks and nonprofits in need. To date, more than 35 million meals have been created from Chick-fil-A Shared Table donations from over 2,300 Chick-fil-A restaurants throughout the U.S. and Canada.
In celebration of the opening, Chick-fil-A, Inc. has also donated $25,000 to Feeding America in honor of the new restaurant. These funds will be distributed to partners in the greater New York City area to aid in the fight against hunger.
Starting March 6, the Chick-fil-A at 795 Columbus Avenue will be open for dine-in, carry-out and delivery from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

Sadly, you may turn out to be absolutely right. If it’s true there was a sucker born every minute back in P.T. Barnum’s day, my back-of-the-envelope calculations imply ~5.9 a minute are born in today’s America, though various recent events suggest the figure is too low.
If it’s anything like the one in Brooklyn near Barclay’s Center there will be a lot of deliveries out of there. For some reason Chik-Fil-A fans really love Doordash and all those ripoff services. Be prepared for more guys rushing on ebikes.

I’m very glad that they are donating to food charities… BUT THEY STILL GIVE TO ANTI-LGBT CAUSES.
