An Upper West Side brownstone that was once at the center of an alleged peeping tom scandal has hit the market for $11 million, Crain’s New York Business was first to report.

Eli Kadoch and Michael Kadoe, who are brothers but spell their last names differently, co-own the building at 7 West 82nd Street, which has nine units and is just steps from Central Park.

In 2014, the pair was accused of spying on two of their employees, a house cleaner and an au pair, via cameras that were allegedly set up in bathrooms. Aksana Kuzmitskaya, the cleaner, discovered a camera inside a clock in the bathroom of a unit she claimed to have been allowed to live in. The camera included a USB drive that housed dozens of videos of her including some where she was naked.

“The videos included Ms. Kunina using the commode, shower, undressing in the restroom, and engaged in sexual activities for [her] own personal pleasure,” the Manhattan federal court lawsuit states, as cited by the New York Post in 2015.

“These two young ladies were trying to do their jobs and these two creeps were filming everything they did,” Kunina’s attorney said at the time, according to the Post.

The brothers denied any wrongdoing and ultimately avoided significant punishment, with only one of the more than 80 criminal counts against them sticking. But Kuzmitskaya and Kunina, the au pair, hit each brother with $1 million civil suits, which were settled before going to trial. Details of the settlements were kept confidential.

Crain’s spoke to Ariel Ben Ezra of Oxford Property Group, the realty company with the listing, who said all nine of the building’s units have live-in tenants paying market rental prices. According to the Streeteasy listing, the brownstone comes with over 9,000 square feet of space and has a monthly tax bill of $5,718. The building’s most recent rental, a one-bedroom unit, was listed for $5,250 before going off the market in September 2022.
