While the fan favorite “The Office” may have aired its last episode, those who are super fans have the chance to experience it again. Fans from across the country are making the trek to see their favorite characters come alive again, and now those who live on the West Side have the chance to see the show close to home. Performances of “The Office! A Musical Parody” will be taking place at The Theater Center at 1627 Broadway (at 50th Street).
For any fans of The Office, Mashable has called the performance “a boisterous, rejuvenating escape from reality that’ll fill the void in your heart.” The production runs in The Jerry Orbach Theater at The Theater Center, 1627 Broadway, and there are performances throughout the end of 2019. The show’s final off-Broadway performance will be on January 13th, 2020.
Bob and Tobly McSmith, the authors of the show, have also created several works like “FRIENDS! The Musical Parody”, “Full! House! The Musical (Starring Perez Hilton)”, and Katdashians! The Musical. In this rendition of The Office, the performance centers around a typical morning at Scranton’s paper company, Dunder Mifflin. The normalcy is interrupted when a documentary crew begins filming the lives of the employees, similar to the show’s earlier episodes.
While the cast may not be the beloved Steve Carrell and co., the reviews are favorable, and highlight the funny and enjoyable performances. Those interested can check out more photos and videos from the cast and can purchase tickets here.
