Scaffolding is up and demolition permits have been granted at 214 West 72nd Street. This is the building right next to Joseph’s Pharmacy which Zen Nail & Spa used to occupy. New York YIMBY first reported when permits were filed for the upcoming 21 story building, which appears to be a mixed-use condominium on the way. There will be 21 floors, with retail on the ground floor and 20 full floor apartments measuring (on average) just under 1500 square feet.
Permits granting the developer the go ahead were issued as of July 9th.
According to a sign on the scaffolding, the demolition of the current site is expected to be complete this summer. And according to New York YIMBY’s original post, construction is expected to be completed by the spring of 2020.
The building developer is SK Development, and they have hired GreenbergFarrow to design the project.
