A recent post by the NY Times outlined the geographic breakdown of political contributions to both Biden and Trump, acknowledging Upper West Side zip code 10024 as contributing more than $8 million to Joe Biden’s campaign since April.
NYC donated a total of $85.6 million to Biden’s campaign, and the Democratic candidate has raised a total of $1.07 billion since this period began.
The analysis reviewed a total of $1.8 billion donated by 7.6 million people.
“Mr. Biden’s hauls are particularly concentrated in big cities and suburbs. One Upper West Side ZIP code — 10024 — accounted for more than $8 million for Mr. Biden, and New York City in total delivered $85.6 million for him — more than he raised in every state other than California.”
The NY Times’ study includes an interactive map which breaks down donations by zip codes around the country, emphasizing the support Biden has received from the coasts. The study also states that Massachusetts is “The most lopsided state in Mr. Biden’s favor,” with Democrats raising $55.7 million, more than five times as much as Republicans received.
The study also states that “Mr. Trump’s greatest edge came from Texas,” where he netted $48.3 million more than Biden.
The study also displays landmark fundraising days for both candidates, as well as amounts raised based on median incomes and education levels.
I live in 10024 and I DON’T like him at all! Scary proposition as to what our country will look like with his cronies.

My computer works fine. Earlier Spencer stated that his support was because Democratic supported Planned Parenthood was eliminating black babies by locating in black neighborhoods.

Theo is absolutely right. MM and Derek are in the minority in both the UWS and in NYC in general. This is not my opinion, but a reflection of the facts in our area.
One thing the last 25 years have shown me is that political affiliation, for a lot of people, is the net result of a process of education and assimilation of ideas that touches first on what we care about individually, and (hopefully) proceeds to an understanding of the issues that are best for society in general.
That process has to be active, deliberate and sustained if we are to become informed, intelligent voters. It is not comfortable sometimes, and it can be frustrating too, but if carried out conscientiously it will lead us to understand that the civic choices we make will be better when we consider our society as a whole, and not just as a space that only exists to satisfy my proclivities and vices or that reinforces my way of thinking and view of the world.
Most people say “I am a republican” or “I am a democrat” based on where they are along that education process.
