A new development in Morningside Heights is in the works, The Real Deal has reported. Plans for 100 Claremont Avenue were recently filed by Lendlease. The property is located on Union Theological’s campus, between 120th and 122nd Streets.

Once complete, the building will rise 42 stories and be 350,000 square feet. There will be 175 residential condos taking up 250,000 square feet. The remaining space dedicated to offices, classrooms and faculty housing.
Robert A.M. Stern Architects will design the building.
The famous architectural firm is responsible for iconic NYC buildings including 15 Central Park West, Superior Ink, 18 Gramercy Park, and The Harrison at 205 West 76th Street.
Morningside Heights has historically been a place of old architecture, but clearly things are changing. We also recently covered nearby developments at 415 West 120th Street and The Vandewater at 543 West 122nd Street).
The first phase of construction at 100 Claremont Avenue is expected to begin during the summer of 2019.
