Symphony Space is hosting a White Christmas singalong next month! Audience members will be able to join in on the best songs from the 1954 classic with stars Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney, and Vera-Ellen!
Directed by Michael Curtiz, “White Christmas” tells the story of army buddies (Crosby and Kaye) who become a successful song and dance duo and later on, producers. Together with the Haynes sister act (Ellen and Clooney), they find themselves in Vermont, which is supposedly “beautiful at this time of the year” to help their former Major General from losing his hotel business.

Berlin wrote the song White Christmas for an earlier Bing Crosby film, Holiday Inn, back in 1942. Ironically, it was not expected to be a hit. Berlin, who was nominated nine times for an Academy Award, ended up taking home the award for Best Song of the Year for White Christmas (from Holiday Inn) later that year.
White Christmas is also known to be Bing Crosby’s bestselling single with estimated sales to be worth $50 million, according to the Guinness Book of World Records. It was even the bestselling single for more than 50 years until Elton John’s Candle in the Wind tribute to Princess Diana took over in 1997.
Ticket prices are $13 for members, $14 for seniors, and $15 for non-members. The singalong will take place on December 11th at 7pm at the Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theater. Get your tickets here!
