Mike Sabry, the owner of Utopia Restaurant and Jessica Massias, a pastry chef at Le Moulin on the UES, will be giving out free Thanksgiving meals to the homeless on Thursday.
Jessica, an Upper West Sider and regular Utopia patron tells us that “Mike will bake the turkey and savory food and I will bake the pumpkin pies.”
They’ll be preparing everything at Utopia, located at 267 Amsterdam Ave between 72nd and 73rd Streets, before distributing the meals around 72nd Street on Thursday around 2pm.
While Jessica says she typically volunteers for non-profits including God’s Love We Deliver, there were no opportunities this year, so “this little partnership with Utopia was a good replacement option to do something good.”
Another way to help: donate a meal for the West Side Campaign Against Hunger’s Turkey Challenge!
Do you know of any restaurants doing what Utopia Diner did last year, handing out free Turkey dinners to seniors or indigent folks. Im a senior and have mobility problems, so this was much appreciated last year. Hopefully they continue.
GOD BLESS
