Upper West Side School Locked Down After Gun Report: No Credible Threats Found

This morning, Louis Brandeis High School (at 145 West 84th Street) was placed under lockdown after reports of a person locked inside a school bathroom with a gun. That lockdown has since been lifted as no credible threats were found.

Patch wrote that an “unidentified male locked inside a bathroom with a firearm” was reported to the police at about 9:40 a.m. NYPD officials responded to the scene, closing the street and remaining until after 11 a.m.

Video shared on Citizen shows students outside the school building, many recording with their cell phones. One young woman can also be seen visibly upset, arguing with a number of individuals, including a police officer. “Keep smirking,” she yells at an unknown individual.
