This Winter Break, Pop In The Chanukah Wonder House!

Chabad Family Programs of the West Side is opening a popup Chanukah experience for kids over winter break.

“We were so disappointed we couldn’t do Chanukah on Ice this year in Central Park, which has been an ongoing tradition for 16 years for our local families and tourists,” Shayna Sapo, Codirector of Chabad Family Programs said. “We were thinking, what else can we do that will bring the joy and warmth of Chanukah to our neighborhood?”

Shayna and her husband, Rabbi Eliyahu Sapo, set out to create a Chanukah Wonder House, with activities and programs for all ages. Each day brings another set of creative and fun Chanukah-themed activities, crafts, and food projects.

On Sunday, fill and top a donut, create stained glass art, play with themed slime, and engineer a Dreidel launcher!

On Monday, enjoy a Dreidel waffle, design your own wax candle, create a Chanukah comic book, and make a Lava Lamp!

On Tuesday, decorate Chanukah cookies, spin Dreidel paint art, build a wooden Dreidel, and create your own Chanukah snow globe!

Located at the Chabad Annex at 676 Amsterdam Avenue (at 93rd Street), the Chanukah Wonder House will be open Sunday, December 29 through Tuesday, December 31 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Ideal for families looking for winter break activities and to celebrate Chanukah!

Space is limited: reserve your 45 minute time slot at chabadwestside.org/chanukahouse.

The Chanukah Wonder House is put on by Shayna and Eliyahu Sapo from Chabad Family Programs, a division of Chabad of the West Side.
