The West Side Community Garden 2023 Arts & Crafts Festival

The West Side Community Garden will be hosting a celebration of local artists and craftsmennext weekend, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on both Saturday, September 9 and Sunday, September 10.

This is a free, family-friendly event open to the general public.

Artists will be showcasing and selling their work including jewelry, ceramics, fabric art, note cards, painting and photography.

The festival will feature kid-focused programming on Saturday, starting with a children’s art workshop at 10 a.m. More kid-friendly fun like face painting and a storybook read-aloud will follow.

On Sunday, the New York String Society/Statue of Liberty Band will be hosting a family-friendly orchestra concert, and the Garden will be holding a poetry reading and open mic from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. featuring the West Side Arts Coalition. Attendees can also sign up to read their own poetry in 5-minute time slots.

The West Side Community Garden is located at 123 West 89th Street between Amsterdam and Columbus avenues. The garden is maintained by an all-volunteer crew dedicated to ensuring that all neighbors—residents, local schools and social service providers—can take advantage of the special events and activities planned at our fabulous location.
