The sequel to the 2006 fashion world juggernaut reunites much of the original cast, with Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci reprising their roles. Production began earlier this summer, and has already seen glimpses of the star-studded cast filming around the city. According to @OLV on Twitter, the Upper West Side will serve as the backdrop for at least one upcoming scene when the cast and crew gather at 77th and Central Park West this Friday.

The plot centers on Miranda Priestly (Streep), the icy editor-in-chief of Runway magazine, as she nears retirement and finds herself in direct competition with her former assistant Emily Charlton (Blunt), now a rival executive. Set against the backdrop of a struggling print media industry, the film promises another high-stakes, high-fashion battle—this time, with a generational twist.
Directed by David Frankel and written by Aline Brosh McKenna—the team behind the original—The Devil Wears Prada 2 is based on Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns, a 2013 novel by Lauren Weisberger. The film is scheduled for release on May 1, 2026.

New additions to the cast include Kenneth Branagh (playing Miranda’s new husband), Lucy Liu, Simone Ashley, Justin Theroux, B.J. Novak, and Pauline Chalamet. Social media has already been buzzing with sightings, especially as longtime fans of the first film—many of whom now work in fashion themselves—flock to filming locations in hopes of a glimpse.
