Texas Dog Family Reunites on the Upper West Side

Last modified on March 22nd, 2021

In the last few months, a Texas dog and his two male puppies were separately adopted by three people, all of whom coincidentally live on the Upper West Side, Inside Edition writes. And now the dog family has been reunited.

Marvin, the dad, was first adopted by Mattie Kahn, an editor at Glamour Magazine.

Soon after, one of Marvin’s sons – Leo – was adopted by Tara Derington. Tara called the Texas shelter to get Leo’s rabies tags, and in the process, discovered that the pup’s dad was in the neighborhood … and that Leo had a brother (Murray) who was still looking for a home.

So Tara told her friend, Anne Sachs, who ended up adopting Murray. At which point, just to be clear, a canine dad and his two sons had all successfully relocated from Texas to three separate Upper West Side apartments.

Just recently, the dog and his puppies were together again.

In a series of January tweets, Mattie Kahn explains how Marvin was first reunited with Leo.

The reunion took place this past Sunday at Bull Moose Dog Run.
