A new Spanish and Latin-Caribbean restaurant restaurant called Tasca has opened its doors 505 Columbus Avenue (between 84th and 85th Street) on Thursday, November 12.
This space was formerly occupied by Kefi, which moved (back) to 222 West 79th Street during the summer of 2018.
Tasca comes from Jay and Norisa Espinal, the restaurateurs behind Don Pedro’s on the Upper East Side.

Tasca seats 30 people outside and up to 65 indoors (at 25% capacity). The multi-level restaurant comes with over 5,500 square feet of space, and is divided into four distinct areas, including a spacious main dining room, bar and lower-level lounge area with a 1,400-bottle wine room and fireplace.
The interior design was inspired by the coasts of Spain and the Caribbean; things you’ll see will include brass and black iron avian wall sculptures, wallpaper illustrations of local Caribbean and Spanish flora with the coqui, a frog native to Puerto Rico, white-washed brick, green hues, weathered grey wood and tropical foliage throughout the space.

Tasca is accepting reservations for dinner via Resy and will be open daily, with brunch, takeout and delivery to follow in the coming weeks.

Walked by the other day and the space looks absolutely incredible. I’ve been eagerly awaiting a Spanish Caribbean restaurant like this ever since Calle Ocho closed their 81st St location, and this one is shaping up to deliver. Looking forward to seeing the full menu.
Amazing stunningly, beautiful, warm, sophisticated and different and DELICIOUS…fills a void missing on the UWS!
