The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying and locating an individual wanted for a subway station assault earlier this week.
At about 10:52 a.m. on Monday, the suspect approached a 19-year-old male on the mezzanine of the 1/9 train station on 86th and Broadway. He then struck him in the head with a metal baton and fled.
EMS responded and treated the victim on scene.
What led to the assault, if anything, is unclear. It’s also unclear if the attack was random.
Surveillance cameras captured an image of the suspect which was shared by the NYPD.
