Signage is up for Nuts Factory at 2240 Broadway (corner of West 80th Street), in the space formerly occupied by beauty salon Pinky New York.
Thanks to Steven Stark and Nick Felker for the tips.

The shop offers “Freshly roasted nuts, granola, dried fruits, flavored and candied nuts, gummies, legumes, spices, olives and more,” and its locations include storefronts on the Upper East Side and in Chelsea. Nuts Factory also has a presence in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

The founder of the company — the current owner’s grandfather — invented an “on the spot roasting machine” which they would eventually bring into their stores so “costumers [could enjoy] the freshest dry roasted nuts, no oil added, straight from the oven.”
We’ve reached out to Nuts Factory for an estimated opening date. We’ll update this post as we learn more.
I will likely never patronize this store, solely because I don’t eat or use the things it sells. However, I am really happy to see new stores like this opening up on the UWS, particularly along the “Gold Coast” of Broadway (72 to 86), which has been severely impacted by “empty storefront” syndrome, and really needs to come back.
So, welcome to Playa Bowl, Nuts Factory, and Panera (among others), who have taken the plunge and chosen to “invest in the Upper West!”
Do you all sell Black walnuts.
Nuts, coffee beans, olives, dried fruit, halva, right across the street from Zabars.
I love me some nuts.
