At Congregation Rodeph Sholom (7 West 83rd Street), Jewish education empowers children to grow into their best selves—with confidence, compassion, and curiosity. Their reimagined after-school enrichment program is designed to meet kids where they are and inspire who they can become.
Following a listening campaign with local families, Rodeph Sholom has launched a fresh approach to Jewish learning: one that adapts to modern family life while nurturing every child’s sense of belonging.
For ages 3–2nd grade, Sholom Adventures offers a joyful and welcoming introduction to Jewish learning, whether or not you’re a Rodeph Sholom member. Customize your experience with core classes, Hebrew enrichment, or Story & Play, all in a nurturing space where friendships form and identity begins to blossom.

For Grades 3–7, Sholom Discoveries offers a flexible and enriching alternative to traditional religious school. Kids attend in person once a week and also have online one-on-one Hebrew lessons at home on a schedule that works for you. Hebrew is taught at each child’s pace, with an emphasis on meaning over pressure. Weekly sessions use art, drama, cooking, and music to bring Jewish values to life, with take-home guides so families can keep the conversation going at home.

The journey continues with personalized B’nai Mitzvah experiences for members, vibrant teen travel and leadership programs, and unforgettable family celebrations like Shabbat Together, a community-wide Friday night celebration with age-appropriate musical services, dinner and fun, interactive programming!

Mindfulness is key across all age groups. Each session begins with a grounding practice to help kids connect with themselves and their sacred community. Educators and clergy are present and engaged, building a space where every child is seen, heard, and truly valued.
