Oktoberfest at Central Park’s SummerStage

The German-American Oktoberfest takes place at Central Park’s SummerStage this year. The festival starts at 1.30pm and ends at 7pm. This popular celebration is one of the best and the biggest outside of Bavaria. The German-American band “Spitze” will be there to perform some traditional German tunes with a modern twist. Another band called “The Polka Brothers” will also be performing and inciting a polka dancing revolution. A bunch of German groups from the Steuben Parade will also be providing live entertainment. The US Championship in Masskrugstemmen will also be held here. This competition is the official one for stein holding as a sport in the US. There’ll also be lots of German foods to choose from including classics such as bratwurst and pretzels. Bavarian beer brands like Hofbrau and Erdinger will also be flowing freely.
